What CloudLinux brings
A system published by CloudLinux for servers hosting many sites: every account gets its own resources and its own environment.
Per-account limits with LVE
According to CloudLinux, the goal of LVE is to make sure no single site can bring down the web server: CPU, memory, I/O, IOPS, processes, concurrent connections and inodes are limited account by account.
Every user in their cage
CageFS is a virtualized file system that isolates each user in their own "cage": an account sees neither other accounts nor sensitive system files.
PHP version per account
With PHP Selector, each user picks the PHP version they need, among the popular versions and more than 120 extensions.
MySQL under control
MySQL Governor monitors MySQL usage per user and throttles abusers, so one database does not overload the whole server.
Built on AlmaLinux
CloudLinux 10 is built on AlmaLinux OS 10 and CloudLinux 9 on AlmaLinux 9: RPM packages are installed and updated with dnf.
cPanel, Plesk and DirectAdmin
CloudLinux states that these three panels are supported natively. The image ships without a panel: installing it and its licence are up to you.
Available versions
| Version | Full support | Status |
|---|---|---|
| CloudLinux 10 | Until 2035 | Recommended |
| CloudLinux 9 | Until 2032 | Maintained |
According to CloudLinux, each version follows the standard lifecycle of the matching RHEL release: full support through 2035 for CloudLinux 10 and through 2032 for CloudLinux 9.
Want a panel installed for you?
We do not install a panel on the CloudLinux image. These panels are installed when you order, on the system that suits them:
- cPanel & WHMAlmaLinux 10
- HestiaCPDebian 13
- Easypanel, DokployUbuntu 26.04
- Plesk, CloudronUbuntu 26.04
CloudLinux OS is a commercial system: its features (LVE, CageFS, PHP Selector, MySQL Governor…) require a licence from the vendor, which is not included in the VPS price shown here. CloudLinux offers a 30-day trial; when it ends, those features stop working until a licence is activated, with no reinstall needed. To obtain or activate a licence on your VPS, contact our support.

CloudLinux FAQ
What to know before you order, and right after.
What is CloudLinux OS?
CloudLinux OS is a commercial Linux system published by CloudLinux for shared hosting. It isolates each account with its own resource limits (LVE) and its own file system (CageFS), so that one site cannot bring down the whole server.
Is the CloudLinux licence included?
No. The price shown on this page is for the VPS, with the CloudLinux image installed. CloudLinux features require a licence from the vendor, which is not included in that price. Contact our support to find out how to obtain or activate a licence on your VPS.
Can I try CloudLinux for free?
CloudLinux offers a 30-day trial with every feature. When the trial ends, CloudLinux features stop working until you buy a licence; the server and sites stay in place, with no reinstall. The trial terms are the vendor's, published on cloudlinux.com.
What is the difference between CloudLinux 10 and 9?
CloudLinux 10 is built on AlmaLinux OS 10 and follows the RHEL 10 lifecycle, with full support through 2035. CloudLinux 9 is built on AlmaLinux 9 and follows the RHEL 9 lifecycle, through 2032. Choose 10 for a new server, unless some software requires 9.
Is a control panel installed?
No, the CloudLinux image ships without a panel. CloudLinux states it natively supports cPanel, Plesk and DirectAdmin; installing the panel and its licence are up to you. If you want a panel installed when you order, we install cPanel & WHM on AlmaLinux 10.
What minimum configuration do I need?
Every plan on this page can run CloudLinux. For shared hosting, choose the size based on the number of accounts and sites: memory and disk are shared between them, and the panel uses its own resources too.
How do I access the server after ordering?
Log in over SSH as root on the VPS IP address, shown in the console. If you added an SSH key when ordering, it is already installed. The KVM console also gives you the server's screen from the browser.
Is my data backed up?
With the backup option (from €0.99 excl. VAT/month), your VPS is backed up automatically once a day and can be restored from the console. On-demand snapshots give you a rollback point before a change.
Who maintains the system?
CloudLinux publishes and updates the system; you apply updates with dnf, at the pace you choose. Our support covers the VPS: the server, its network, storage and availability. The system, its configuration and your accounts remain your responsibility, with root access.
