Backups and snapshots

Daily backups available as an option from €0.99 excl. VAT/month, and a first snapshot for free to roll back if an update goes wrong.

Online in three steps

You order, the server arrives on Ubuntu 26.04 and Cloudron installs itself.

  1. 01

    Pick your VPS

Select a plan with at least 2 vCPU and 2 GB of RAM: Cloudron is already ticked in the order.

  2. 02

    Cloudron installs itself

Automatically on Ubuntu 26.04, right after the server is created. The installation usually takes 10 to 20 minutes, then the server reboots.

  3. 03

    Set up your domain

Open https://<server IP>, point my.your-domain and *.your-domain to the server, then create the administrator account in the setup wizard.

A complete platform for your apps

Cloudron installs your apps, keeps them up to date and backs them up, with users, domains and email managed in one place.

  • App Store

Install Nextcloud, WordPress, Vaultwarden, Gitea, n8n, Immich and many more from the dashboard, each on its own subdomain.

  • Automatic updates

Cloudron applies app updates, and platform updates if you wish, on the days and hours you choose, after a full backup.

  • Per-app backups

Each app is backed up separately to more than 25 storage providers (S3, Backblaze B2, NFS…), optionally encrypted with AES-256, and restored on its own.

  • Built-in mail server

Mailboxes and aliases for your users and groups, a catch-all address, a trainable spam filter, Roundcube or SnappyMail webmail, and optional sending through an SMTP relay.

  • Users and single sign-on

A central directory: each user keeps the same username and password across every app, with two-factor authentication.

  • Domains and HTTPS

Cloudron configures your domains' DNS with many providers and obtains a Let's Encrypt certificate for every app.

  • Managed firewall

Cloudron manages the server's firewall rules itself, with no manual iptables changes.

  • Graphs, logs and terminal

For each app: CPU, memory, disk and network usage, logs, a memory limit and a web terminal into its files and databases.

  • Portable apps

Backed up independently, your apps can be restored, cloned or migrated to another Cloudron server one at a time.

Cloudron features as described on cloudron.io and in its official documentation (docs.cloudron.io).

Cloudron FAQ

What to know before you order, and right after.

What is Cloudron?

Cloudron is a self-hosting platform: from its dashboard, you install apps from its App Store (Nextcloud, WordPress, Vaultwarden, Gitea…), each on its own subdomain. Cloudron handles their updates, backups, HTTPS certificates, user accounts and a built-in mail server.

Is the Cloudron subscription included?

No. The prices on this page are for the VPS, and OnetSolutions does not sell Cloudron subscriptions. Cloudron's free plan lets you install two apps. Beyond that, the paid Pro and Max plans (unlimited apps) are bought directly from Cloudron, at the prices published on cloudron.io.

Is Cloudron open source?

No. Cloudron's code is source available: you can read it, but it is not released under an open source licence. Cloudron's app packages, however, are open source, and each app keeps its own licence.

How do I sign in the first time?

Once the installation is finished and the server has rebooted, open https://<server IP>: your browser warns about a self-signed certificate, this is expected. Point my.your-domain and *.your-domain to the server's IP address (A records), enter that domain in the setup wizard, then create the administrator account. Cloudron then obtains the Let's Encrypt certificates itself.

How long does the installation take?

Cloudron is installed on Ubuntu 26.04 right after the server is created. The installation usually takes 10 to 20 minutes; the server then reboots to finish it, and the Control panel card in the console switches to Installed a few minutes later.

What is the minimum configuration?

Cloudron requires at least 2 GB of RAM and 20 GB of disk. We install it on plans with at least 2 vCPU, 2 GB of RAM and 30 GB of storage: only those are offered on this page. Each app runs with its own memory limit: plan for more RAM if you intend to install several.

Do I need a domain name?

Yes. The Cloudron dashboard is served on my.your-domain and each app on its own subdomain. You can use a domain or a subdomain you already own.

Who updates Cloudron and the apps?

The Cloudron team maintains the app packages and publishes their updates; Cloudron applies them according to the policy you choose, after an automatic backup. If you cancel a paid subscription, the server and apps keep running but stop receiving updates. OnetSolutions installs Cloudron and looks after the VPS; questions about Cloudron itself are handled by Cloudron.

Are my apps backed up?

Cloudron backs up each app separately, with optional encryption, to external storage (S3, Backblaze B2, SSHFS, NFS…): it advises against keeping backups on the server's own disk. Daily backups available as an option from €0.99 excl. VAT/month: they back up the whole VPS, Cloudron included. A first snapshot is free.

Can I add Cloudron to an existing VPS?

Yes, by reinstalling the VPS from the console and choosing Cloudron in the Control panel tab. Reinstalling erases all the data on the server: back it up first. A control panel cannot be combined with a One Click App on the same instance.

Launch your Cloudron VPS

Pick your plan: the server arrives with Cloudron installed, ready for your apps. Cloudron's free plan is limited to two apps; beyond that, a Cloudron subscription (Pro or Max) is bought directly from Cloudron.
