What to know before you order, and right after.

What is cPanel & WHM?

cPanel & WHM is a web hosting control panel published by the company cPanel. WHM (WebHost Manager) manages the server and creates accounts; each account has its own cPanel interface to manage its websites, email, databases and DNS.

Is the cPanel licence included?

No. The prices shown on this page are for the VPS. The installation starts on a trial licence when the server's IP address is eligible; a cPanel licence is then required to keep using cPanel & WHM. You buy it from cPanel, for your VPS's IP address, according to the plans and prices published on cpanel.net.

How do I log in to WHM the first time?

Once the installation is finished, connect to the server over SSH with your project key and run whmapi1 create_user_session user=root service=whostmgrd: it prints a one-time login link. Open it: your browser warns about a self-signed certificate until a domain name is configured, this is expected. Then follow the WHM setup wizard.

How long does the installation take?

The cPanel & WHM installation starts right after the server is created, on AlmaLinux 10, and usually takes 20 to 45 minutes. WHM is then reachable on port 2087.

What minimum configuration do I need?

cPanel recommends 4 GB of RAM and 40 GB of disk. We install cPanel & WHM on plans with at least 2 vCPU, 4 GB of RAM and 40 GB of storage: only those are offered on this page.

Can I migrate my sites from another host?

Yes. If your current host provides a full backup of your cPanel account, restore it in WHM. From a cPanel & WHM or Plesk server you have access to, the WHM Transfer Tool imports the accounts directly.

Are Softaculous and CloudLinux installed?

No. cPanel & WHM is installed with its default components, including WP Toolkit and ImunifyAV. Softaculous and CloudLinux are third-party products, sold with their own licences.

Are my sites backed up?

Daily backups available as an option from €0.99 excl. VAT/month, depending on the plan: they back up the whole VPS, cPanel and your accounts included. WHM also offers its own account-by-account backups to the destination of your choice. Your first snapshot is free: take one before a major update.

Can I change plan later?

Yes. You can move to a larger VPS size from the console when your accounts need more resources.

Why a VPS rather than shared hosting?

Shared hosting gives you one cPanel account on a shared server. With a VPS you get WHM and root access: you create as many accounts as you want, define your packages and configure the server, with resources dedicated to you.
