What is Hermes Agent?
Hermes Agent is an open source AI agent developed by Nous Research. It runs continuously on a server, keeps a memory from one session to the next, saves skills from what it does and runs scheduled tasks. It is deployed here with Hermes WebUI, a community web interface that gives you access to the agent from your browser.
Is an AI model included?
No. Hermes Agent needs a model API: OpenRouter, Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, Mistral, DeepSeek or an OpenAI-compatible server, with your own key and billed by its provider. Messages sent to the model are processed by the provider you choose.
How do I access Hermes Agent after ordering?
Once the VPS is created, Hermes Agent and its web interface are deployed automatically. Open the application in the One Click Apps section of the console: you will find its HTTPS address and the credentials generated at deployment, including the web interface password. On first launch, a wizard asks you to pick a model provider and enter your API key. Then add your domain in the Domains tab: the HTTPS certificate is issued automatically.
What does Hermes Agent remember between sessions?
Hermes keeps two memory files, one for its notes about your environment and one for your preferences, and reads them at the start of every session. It can also search the history of your conversations. This data, like its skills and scheduled tasks, is stored on your VPS, in a datacenter in France.
Do scheduled tasks run while I'm offline?
Yes. Scheduled tasks are run by the Hermes Agent gateway, which runs permanently on your server. The result is delivered to the destination you chose: a configured messaging app, an email or the original conversation.
Can Hermes Agent answer me on Telegram or Discord?
Hermes Agent supports Telegram, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, Signal and other messaging apps. These connections are not preconfigured: you set them up on the Hermes Agent side by following its documentation, with root access to your server.
What is the minimum configuration?
One Click Apps require at least 2 vCPU, 2 GB of RAM and 30 GB of disk, with 1 GB of RAM reserved for the system and the platform. Every plan on this page meets them, and you can move to a larger size from the console.
Is my data backed up?
Hermes Agent's volumes (configuration, memory, skills, sessions and workspace) are backed up every day at 3 a.m. with 7-day retention, on the VPS disk: they protect you from a mistake in the application, not from losing the server. For that, add the VPS backup option (from €1.99 excl. VAT/month) or take a snapshot.
How do updates work?
Every night, the console checks whether a new version of the agent or the web interface has been published and shows it on the application page. Nothing is updated without your action: one click on "Update" is enough, and your data is kept.
Does Hermes Agent cost anything, and who maintains it?
Hermes Agent is free, published and maintained by Nous Research under the MIT license. Hermes WebUI is maintained by its contributors, also under the MIT license. OnetSolutions does not publish this software: our support covers your server. The prices on this page are for the VPS; model API usage is billed by its provider.
